The Role of Anilox and Gravure Quality Control in R2R Printing & Coating Efficiency

Kevin Lifsey

Presented by Brent Zurcher, MicroDynamics

Anilox and gravure cylinders used in R2R processes perform the vital function of precision fluid transfer to the substrate, and therefore have a significant impact on the final function and quality of the end product. However, many R2R converters have no ability to inspect these tight-tolerance engraved rollers in-house. Today, affordable equipment for fast, easy, and accurate measurement of anilox and gravure assets enables more and more converters to take control of this critical process variable, improving product quality and maximizing process efficiency. This presentation will discuss the critical volume parameter, and how a well-designed and maintained inspection program can save time and reduce costs.
