Static Ignition Hazards and Mitigations in Coating

Kevin Lifsey

Presented by Kelly Robinson, Electrostatic Answers

Accumulated static charges pose ignition hazards in industrial manufacturing operations. After a brief review of the conditions for ignition, we will view two videos of ignitions. I will discuss the charge separation mechanisms that led to the ignition and talk more broadly about what we have learned from each incident. Effective ways to mitigate the hazards are presented.
