Thanks to newly developed coating media for barrier paper applications, paper is becoming increasingly popular for flexible packaging in the food industry. Furthermore, one trend is the replacement of extruded PE with barrier layers for paper cups. Machine suppliers need to offer sustainable machine solutions with a low carbon footprint for the new paper coating application. The aim here is also to apply efficient, resource-saving coating methods and to develop energy-efficient drying and curing solutions. These topics will be covered with the presentation.
