Coating Characteristics of Slot Die Systems Predicted bia Simulation

Slot dies are premetered heads that uniformly apply coatings to substrates. To provide coatings without defects, dies must be positioned to form an ideal geometry between the substrate and the die lips. Since many geometric parameters can be adjusted, it helps to use an accurate simulation tool to find an appropriate die position before beginning production trials. Laboratory results will be compared with simulated coating runs to demonstrate the accuracy of the software.
