Advantages of Pattern Coated Adhesive

As every user of adhesive coated label stock or other adhesive components knows, there are numerous disadvantages to full coating of adhesives, ranging primarily from adhesive ooze, coverage where you don’t need it and tack issues. Full coating of adhesives brings its own challenges in die cutting, and introduces possible variation in thickness of the adhesive. Most importantly, adhesive waste increases the cost of the end product. With labels becoming more and more a working part of the product, it makes sense to apply the adhesive only where you need it and use the void area for other uses of the product.
