Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) Control Basics
Presented by David Stephan, PCT Ebeam and Integration
An examination of the five building blocks (Reference Generation, Tension Regulator, Speed Regulator, Feedback, and Compensation) that make up a tension loop for non-control personnel. Each block and its relevant parameters are discussed. Straight-forward examples are used to illustrate concepts without diving into control theory. Concepts like filtering, tuning, sample rates, and compensation are discussed. Some general ‘rules-of-thumb’ and important take-aways are also covered.
